Stomach And Bowel Disorders A Breast Feed Infant Will Encounter At The Period Of Weaning.

At about six months old, a child is going through a period of weaning and will start off with some semi solid food. During this period, you may notice that some breast feed baby will experience stomach and bowel disorders. We should try not to have the child weaning too early or too suddenly as this will disturb the child system. The other reason for stomach and bowel disorder is due to over-feeding the infant or introducing not suitable food to the baby. This could occasionally lead to baby having diarrhoea.

The digestive system of the baby is still very delicate, so as you supplement breast milk with artificial food, do so slowly and let the child adapt to the change. Remember you should introduce artificial food slowly and slowly reduce the dependency on breast milk.
At this period, the child may also at the teething stage. So it is also very common that teething may give rise to diarrhoea. It may not necessary due to weaning that causes bowels disorder. Do observe the situation and if severe you make need to consult a doctor.
